Welcome
Handmade by Thomas is a small independent studio owned by husband and wife team, Thomas and Louise at their 18th century country cottage in the heart of the village of Farndon in Cheshire, UK. Thomas is an artist with over 40 years experience in art, design, music and horticulture. Thomas has always been drawn to natural materials, organic forms, and the quiet beauty of handmade objects.
Thomas focuses on pieces that are both handmade, functional and designed to be used, touched, and appreciated over time.
Each item Thomas creates is inspired by the landscape around where they live on the border of England and Wales; the textures of the landscape, the changing seasons, the subtle details often overlooked.
Living in Farndon, surrounded by nature and history, deeply influences the way Thomas approaches his craft. Thomas works slowly and intentionally, allowing each piece to take shape at its own pace.

I know the personal connection is important to you and us, so we decided to introduce a "Maker's Open Day" once a week, at our modest studio every Saturday in the heart of the village of Farndon.
You can come to the studio to chat, view items, or pick up orders.

Every piece starts the same way — with clay, time, and intention. We make everything in small batches, focusing on simplicity, texture, and form. It means slower production, but pieces that feel made — not manufactured.
